Imagine if a pool noodle and a rocket launcher had a baby. That’s this rod. It rules. The diameter of the glass at the base is surprisingly large, the wall thickness is super thin and the taper? Sweet. Its light in hand and absolutely hammers casts.
My favorite thing about this rod so far is the power. It launches big streamers with heavy sink tips like no tomorrow and fishes a Scandi setup with soft hackles equally as well. Every single fish I’ve hooked on this thing has been a total blast to fight. Compared to some of the bigger carbon 4-weights that tend to horse fish in, this rod keeps the fight fun. The way trout fishing should be.
All the hardware on this thing is no frills and clean. No fancy engravings or shiny trim and honestly, who cares? It works, it fishes. If you want flair, bust out some paint and go wild. The rod is green. More rods should be green… or cool looking colors. Unless you’re fishing ultra spooky clear water, I really doubt fish care what color your rod is.

I feel like one of the coolest features is the feedback this rod gives you. It wants you to find the meat of the bend, where all the energy and sweetness lives. You’ll know when you’ve found it because the cast will send with amazing line speed and the handle will flex. You’ll also know when you totally blew it.
It’s an epic feeling to get a cast off perfectly, followed by a take from a nice sized fish. Sure, it’s glass, so it’s marginally slower, but that gives me just enough time to think about my casting stroke and how much I suck at spey casting. It’s really cool to be able to dissect what I’m doing right or what I’m messing up.
I honestly think this rod is a great teaching tool and has made me a better caster.
It also has that glass rod sensitivity, the same reason I love fiberglass creek rods. They’re tippet forgiving, never overgunned, and transmit every twitch. This stick has that same feel on the swing. Even a 5-inch trout sends a huge shockwave down the blank. You feel everything, but don’t be fooled. There’s plenty of backbone under the fun.
If I had to fish one rod for it all, this would be it. I am going to field test the heck out of it and will follow up after I’ve put it through its paces.
This rod comes in at 10’8″ weighing 6.45 ounces and will fish Skagit heads around 270gr and Scandi around 250gr.
Long live fiberglass.
